Week 31 - Arise!
Theme: Arise!
I feel the strong thrust of divine life within me.
Divine life in the form of love which sets me in motion.
What I may wish to ask:
That I can start to live with the awareness
that everything revolves around the love which God gives me.
Music: Taizé: Veni Sancte Spiritus

We try to imagine ourselves in the room where Jesus’ friends had gathered in Jerusalem after witnessing the Ascension of Jesus to heaven. There they abide, united and in prayer together. Let’s hope that God’s Holy Spirit will also break through our own darkness. I too may be present here and abide in prayer.
Acts of the Apostles 2, 1-12
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.
To be open for what the Hloy Spirit tells me, to be receptive for what moves me the most deeply.
Am I aware of what God’s Holy Spirit arouses in me?
Can people see that when they look at me?
*
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem. And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each. Amazed and astonished, they asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language?
The Spirit goes beyond human boundaries. Bounderies which I might have put into place myself. But God’s Spirit also breaks down my own barriers.
*
In our own languages we hear them speaking about God’s deeds of power.” All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
God gives His Spirit, just like that, freely, to every person. He is able to open my eyes so that I can see every other person as a child of God. Excluding absolutely nobody. The Holy Spirit can make me receptive and open for this.
