Week 31 - Arise!

Theme:

I feel within me the powerful thrust of the divine life coming to expression as love which prods me into action.

What I might wish to ask:

That I can start living with the awareness that everything revolves around the love which God has given me.

In order to be able to start the meditation well, I place myself before God who is looking at me with love.

Come, light of our hearts.

Come, Holy Spirit.

John 14, 15-21

(Jesus said:) “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

The commandment Jesus is referring to is the commandment to love one another as Jesus has loved us, unconditional love, love which is stronger than death. How is this unconditional love given a place in my own life? Do I also experience this love beyond death?

*

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, the divine love, the divine guideline. I look back on recent times. When was the Spirit at work in my life? Did the Spirit prod me into action?

*

“I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.”

Jesus doesn’t leave us orphaned, but comes to us. He is always with us. I can use the last few minutes of the meditation to just simply be here for God, for the Holy Spirit, and to listen in order to see if I can hear his gentle voice calling me.
