Week 29 - Eternal live
Theme:
With Jesus the concepts of time and eternity became linked.
His life showed us how, even to this very day, that the eternal God is present in our lives. Also, in me.
What I may wish to ask:
That I am able to feel the power of the eternal God within me. That my life takes on the form of a life forever.

The Taizé song, Alleluia, sings out full of joy for the new life that began after the resurrection. Maybe even eternal life? A vision of the future which can fill me with hopeful courage and provide comfort during difficult times. Maybe there is a new future waiting for me too. It could take many forms but it will offer something new, something life-giving.
Try to step into the vision sketched by John. To accept this vision as a gift.
Revelation 21,1-7 The New Heaven and the New Earth.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
A vision of something truly beautiful, something pristine, a precious gift. Does this evoke my own vision of what would be the New Heaven and the New Earth for me personally? Maybe I have already received it or maybe it is a vision I look forward to? What am I expecting to happen?
*
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“See, the home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.”
The first things have passed away. Sorrow, tears and mourning will no longer exist in this vision of the future. Am I able to believe in such a vision for my own future? Or does this mean something else for me?
And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Then he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Shall I be a child of God?
In a vision where everything is new, where God alone is the beginning and the end, I can entrust myself to the God of Love who has given me life.
